Mother & Daughter Retreat

Check out the video from last year’s Mother Daughter Retreat!

Theme – Truth Trained & Faith Fit

“Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” – 1 Timothy 4:7-8

Regular intervals of training in God’s Word, consistently exercising expressions of praise, practicing sustained times of prayer, and doing reps of scripture memory can benefit our eternal “cardio” care and help us avoid getting spiritually flabby. These practices help us find endurance, joy, peace and rest in uncertain circumstances that arise unexpectedly.

Early Bird Arrival:  This is your chance to get a head start on this amazing weekend. Come as early as 9:30am on Friday morning and we will include lunch and extra activities for an additional cost of only $20/person.

Come prepared to be involved!

Energizer Opportunity – Do you and your daughter or group of ladies want a chance to pump us up?  Pick your favorite Christian song and plan a 2-3 minute energizing workout routine.  You can focus on cardio, arms, legs, abs, or stretching.  You can do zumba, stomp, or ballet.  This is your chance to share with the group your unique routine.  Please bring your song on a digital device and e-mail guestservices@jennesspark.com if you would like to participate in this opportunity.  Please provide the names of the people in your group, the name of the song, and the length of time for your energizer.

Chapels with Kellye Cash – Bring your Bible and notebook.  Prepare your heart to be encouraged and challenged as we meet together and jump into God’s word.

Neon at Night – After chapel Friday evening we will have a field event for all ages.  Feel free to bring a glow-in-the-dark or neon accessory to enhance the fun!

Cardio Capers Challenge – Saturday morning after chapel there will be a series of physical challenges, some messy, some silly, and some that will stay in your memory for decades! Warning:  you might want to wear your “get messy” clothes.

Wacky Workout Wardrobe Evening – On Saturday evening, we’re wearing our workout attire.  Feel free to break out those leg warmers or leotards – whatever suits your fancy.  You can be retro or trendy; even your favorite fuzzy sweats will work!

Fun Food – Don’t worry, we are still planning yummy treats.  Not everything will be green and crunchy!

IMPORTANT!! – Register Early!! – In order to have adequate sizes and numbers of t-shirts as well as craft supplies it is vital that ladies register ASAP.

We are looking forward to seeing you October 5-7!

Speaking and Worship – KELLYE CASH

Jenness Park is excited to host Kellye Cash for its 2018Mother Daughter Retreat. Kellye learned early in her life to be flexible in a number of environments since she was the daughter of a U.S. Navy fighter pilot who took their
family all over the country. In 1987 Kellye Cash had the unique opportunity of demonstrating her Christian faith while running for and achieving the title of Miss America. Following numerous civic engagements during her year as Miss America, Cash attended college and began a career as a Christian music artist and speaker. She made appearances on “The Today Show” and “Good Morning America.” She has performed with her uncle, Johnny Cash, and has recorded a number of CDs. Kelley currently lives in Milan, Tennessee with her husband Todd Sheppard, a high school teacher and volleyball coach. The couple has three children: Brady (23), Cassidy (21), and Tatum (16). Kellye is currently the Music Ministry Assistant at First Baptist church of Milan and is a fitness instructor for the Milan Y. Additionally Kellye teaches private piano and voice and coaches for a creative problem solving competition.
