Missions Opportunity at Jenness Park

Serving the Lord through missions projects is a great way for groups
to grow together in their relationships with the Lord and with each other.
While doing missions projects in international locations is a valuable
endeavor, the staff at Jenness Park realizes that sometimes groups are
looking for a way to serve God that is economical, closer to home, and
achieves some unique, service-oriented goals.
When groups volunteer at Jenness Park they assist the camp in completing
major projects in a short amount of time. Leaders are able to disciple
young people in having a servant attitude at a facility where the gospel
of Jesus Christ is preached all year long. Groups are able to trade food
and lodging for the work they accomplish, so the mission trip can be
completed at an extremely low cost to interested groups. Groups are also
provided with a meeting room in order to be able to study the Bible,
worship, pray, and foster group unity.
Big Valley Grace Christian School of Modesto, CA, brought their junior
class for an over-night mission trip to Jenness Park on March 12, 2008.
This is the second year that Big Valley Grace Christian School has come
to Jenness Park to serve the camp. The forty-eight hard-working young
people removed snow from the main dining hall deck in order to prevent
damage from the weight of the heavy winter snows. The group also primed
and painted family cabins, a task that takes a number of people to complete
in a timely manner. With the spring thaw beginning to occur, the group
was able to clean up some of the trash and pine needles that have been
buried under snow for several months.
Jenness Park appreciates groups like Big Valley Grace Christian School.
Groups of various ages and sizes can be accommodated. Just come expecting
to serve, work hard, eat well, grow together, and grow in the Lord. If
