Winter Youth Retreat

Here is a recap video from last year, check it out to get a feeling of what our Winter Youth Retreat is all about!

February 19th – 21st 2016

Ages: Jr. High and High School

This weekend is designed for Junior High through High School students and offers Bible-based worship, organized recreation, enriching seminars, free-time activities and six delicious meals. The weekend begins with Friday night dinner and goes through Sunday lunch.

This year’s theme is Take a Stand! In today’s culture, we take a stand for our favorite team, TV show, movie, point of view, you name it, and each of us will take a side and hold to that side no matter what the outcome. We as believers need to take a stand for Christ! People we meet, whether in school, work or on the street, should know what it is we stand for. Are you ready to take a stand? Join us for Winter Youth 2016!

Theme Verse – Ephesians 6:13

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Speaker – Moses Caesar

Moses serves as Minister to Young Adults and Single Adults at First Baptist Church, Midland, Texas. He loves driving, snowboarding and meeting new people. Moses believes everyone is so loved by God that being friends with people and caring for people is a way to love God back.

At the age of seven, Moses immigrated to Texas from India with his parents and two siblings. His family celebrates a rich Christian heritage dating back six generations highlighted by Moses’ grandmother’s grandfather serving as the first Indian pastor of their missionary founded hometown church. Moses accepted Christ as Savior at the age of ten in Sunday School. His life verse, Galatians 2:20 and a phrase from youth camp, “God wants a relationship and not just a religion,” have shaped his spiritual development.

Moses earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He served on church staffs in Texas, California and Tennessee as youth, college or singles minister. Moses also served as Campus Pastor at Baptist Universities in California and Alabama. For the last seven years, Moses as been involved in a full-time speaking ministry communicating biblical truths to all age groups all across the US. Along with his diverse background and experience, Moses’ journey as a single adult uniquely shapes his heart and passion for ministry.

We are a group of brothers and sisters who have decided to use the gifts and opportunities that God has given us to worship Him through our praise music.
Ever since we were very young, our parents took us to Spirit West Coast every year to see our favorite bands. We’d come home inspired after each event and tried everything we could to get our band started, slowly making progress, but not reaching the point where we could actually put songs together.
Then, one day in 2010, we came home to find that our entire house had flooded. Our instruments were destroyed, and our hopes of getting our band off the ground were dashed. By God’s grace, just a few months later, we were able to replace our damaged equipment with brand new instruments, and He also gave us a brand new room in our house that now serves as our recording studio. We decided to use these gifts to worship Him through a praise and worship band that we called THEANTHROPOS Worship.
