Minister’s Wives Retreat

May 17 through 19, 2019

Come be a part of the Ministers’ Wives Retreat. This retreat, at the beautiful Jenness Park in the Sierra Nevada mountains, is a highlight weekend for ministers’ wives from throughout California. Women come to seek friendships with other ministers’ wives, find support through prayer partners, share ideas for ministry and be pampered by the Jenness Park staff. You will leave encouraged and ready for the joys and challenges of ministry. Whether you come with a group or by yourself, be assured that you will be welcomed and encouraged. Whether you come with a group or not knowing anyone; be assured that you will be welcomed and encouraged. The retreat is open to any woman whose husband is a vocational minister, including wives and widows or full-time, part-time, or retired ministerial church staff (e.g., associate pastors, music, youth or education ministers), vocational chaplains, college/seminary students or faculty/staff and denominational staff.
The retreat has elements that will appeal to any personality or need:

  • inspiring worship
  • helpful breakout seminars
  • powerful speakers and leaders
  • energizing fellowship
  • fun recreational opportunities
  • interesting people
  • the best camp food anywhere
  • down time, if you choose (lots of down time!)

Theme – Women of Honor

The theme verse for the 2019 Ministers’ Wives Retreat is “Women of Honor” based on Philippians 4:8.

The retreat allows you to refocus your hope in God and just be who He designed you to be. No one is there to judge you, grade you or ask you to help with anything. It is a time for you to relax, learn, share, rest, devote or do whatever it is you need to do to recharge your life and reconnect with God.

This was a wonderful time to re-focus and redirect my Christian walk. This also gets me closer to my girls and helps me to know them better.

This was such a great opportunity to bond with my daughters.

Loved the worship, fellowship, and refreshment of being with women of God.

My favorite part was all the activities and spending time with my mom.

Have been up several times for the Mother-Daughter retreat. Such an amazing, beautiful campus. Great food! Cabins are comfortable. Such an incredible gift from God – a gorgeous natural environment in which to seek Him and grow in your relationship with Christ

Keynote Speaker

Marshelle Wilburn is a California native, wife, mother of five, urban church planting missionary, national leadership trainer, speaker to diverse audiences, and writer who partners in ministry with her husband, Port, director of missions for San Francisco-Peninsula Baptist Association and pastor of Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship.

Since 2007, she has been in management at one of Northern California’s largest Christian homeless shelters, the Bay Area Rescue Mission. She is passionate about teaching and encouraging others to deepen and strengthen their relationship with Christ for exponential Kingdom impact and to live their purpose to the fullest. Her loves are being a wife and the mom of four daughters and one son who are all talented and fill her with joy, spending time with family, meditating on, studying and teaching the Bible, California beaches, and coffee.

Worship Leader

Lisa Daniels is a loving wife and mother who loves to worship the Lord. She started leading worship at the age of 13 at Victory Christian Center Church. She also served as choir director and youth ministry leader.

In June 2016, God led Lisa and her family to the Bayview Baptist Church where currently serves with the worship team.

Through leading worship and teaching God’s Word, Lisa has learned that her feelings of inadequacy do not have a place in His presence and it is her mission to inspire and encourage everyone to believe in themselves and that they too are fearfully and wonderfully made
